The City of Jeannette Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency.  Police Chief Derek Manley leads a department of 12 full time officers and 2 K9 officers. The Department is a member of the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General Westmoreland County Drug Task Force  and a member of the Laurel Highlands DUI Task Force.

Please be advised the Jeannette Police Department is actively increasing its enforcement of wrong way parking within the City. The Jeannette Police Department will be issuing yellow parking tickets which include a fine of $15.00. Failure to pay a City issued parking ticket within the appropriate time frame will result in a State issued citation, which includes additional costs.

Wrong way parking is a State Motor Vehicle Code violation under Title 75, Section 3354 (a):
Except as otherwise provided in this section, every vehicle standing or parked upon a two-way highway shall be positioned parallel to and with the right-hand wheels within 12 inches of the right-hand curb or, in the absence of a curb, as close as practicable to the right edge of the right-hand shoulder.
