Leaf Pickup
|
Leaf collection is the responsibility of the property owner. Leaf pickup weeks will occur in the fall months on the non-recycling weeks.
To have your leaves, grass or other yard debris picked up by the City, please place the leaf or yard waste in biodegradable bags. These bags may be purchased at any local home improvement store. During all other times of the year, you may still place leaves in biodegradable bags, but they will be hauled away during regular sanitation pickup. Please do not allow leaves to accumulate in or around storm and sanitary lines. This causes the lines to become clogged or damaged, thereby resulting in maintenance and repairs. The ensuing maintenance and repairs consumes manpower and tax dollars, all of which ultimately lead to a higher cost to each taxpayer. Please utilize the following methods to remove leaves and yard debris. The City does not provide leaf pickup via street sweeper or leaf vacuum. Please do not rake or sweep leaves on to the sidewalk or roadway. They will not be picked up by the City. Remember, this will lead to infrastructure problems which takes a toll on all residents of the City. |
Brush, Trimmings & Limb Chipping
|
Chipping is available to residents every-other Wednesday, occurring on the non-recycling weeks. This service is for trimmings only. No full tree removal. Residents are asked to stack all trimmings with the large end facing the same direction. This allows for easier loading by our public works department.
No dirt or root balls can be fed in to the chipper. Please remove any dirt or root balls prior to placing curbside. Limbs are not permitted to be larger than 6" (six inches) in circumference. To schedule to have your brush, trimmings and small tree limbs picked up, please call the Tax Office at 724.527.4000 ext 14, 15, or 16. A $20 fuel surcharge per trimming applies. |
